Interview with Mrs. W. Cutler

Interview with Mrs. W. Cutler by Alexander B. Fowler – 1950

This is Alexander B. Fowler of Boonton, New Jersey, conducting an interview in the interest of the Morris County Historical Society.  Today, January 28, 1950. (Inquiring about Jonathan Roberts)

They all had names, and his place was Glenbrook.  Aunt Mary named it so because her home in Bristol, Pennsylvania, was called Glen Rose, and this place had the glen and the brook, so she called it Glenbrook.  He bought it in the autumn of 1867.  And they moved in, had their first meal on the 4th of July 1868.  He bought it from Mr. Lewis B. Stiles.   He bought the corner of Glenbrook Road and Mountain Way I think from Stephen Tunis or Mrs. Stephen Tunis, and then he moved the house to where it stands today.
